"75 Bravo" repaint was created using
the Gmax Bell 47 G2 sim creation of Jean-Marie
Mermaz as the foundation. Jean-Marie is a French
jetliner pilot who flies both helicopters and
fixed wing aircraft and flew the Model 47
extensively, from basic training through to
commercial assignments. The background on
Jean-Marie Mermaz and the Gmax Bell 47 G2 digital
model can be found here. The members of the
N975B Project Team are Tom Heaverlo, of Iowa, and
Jeff Jankovics, of North Carolina, both members
of the Bell 47 Helicopter Association and huge
Whirlybirds fans. Tom is highly experienced in
sim repaints, having done others in the past. A
few years ago, Jeff had painted a Gmark Bell 47
scale model into the colors of the Whirlybirds
after he had contacted National Helicopter, who
supplied the helicopters for the series, and
learned what the color scheme for the ships were
supposed to be. Tom came across a picture of the
Gmark on the internet and contacted Jeff about
helping him construct a Whirlybirds N975B sim
repaint. After receiving permission earlier from
Jean-Marie Mermaz to do repaints of his Gmax Bell
47 G2 sim, Tom and Jeff teamed up to construct
the most accurate sim reproduction of "75
Bravo" possible. With Jeff providing the
needed pictures, drawings, sound clips for the
real sounds of a Bell 47 G2, and technical
information, Tom putting his excellent design
skills to work from the information, and the Gmax
creation of Jean-Marie Mermaz as the foundation,
the result of this international effort is this
beautiful N975B Bell 47 G2 flight sim. |
