Dave
Meiklejohn is a pilot and model builder,
as well as a band member of The
Conniptions, comprised of Dave
Meiklejohn-Guitar, Sitar, Harmonica and
Vocals, Duaine Detrick-Steinberger Bass
Guitar and Vocals, Tom Romanak-Drums and
Vocals and toured as drummer with the
Buckinghams, and Carissa-Guest Vocals
both Lead and Back-Up. The band is based
out of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and
together bring a musical history right

detailed models of aircraft, automobiles,
and other replicas for a number of years
for himself and for other clients. Some
examples of his work are shown below.
Dave has done three superb Whirlybirds
models for me in both 1/35th and 1/72nd
scales, including the 1/35th scale model you see
above. One of the 1/72nd models he did
for me will be used in an upcoming
Whirlybirds hangar display I am doing.
Dave would be thrilled to do a model of
any Bell 47 helicopter you might like.
Perhaps you have an idea of one or maybe
you own one. You could have a beautiful
scale model of your actual Bell 47 if you
like. Dave will do a model for you to
your exact specifications.
